Andrew Griffiths, a Mornington Peninsula based obstetrician and gynaecologist is supporting the OCRF.
Dr Andrew Griffiths, a gyneacologist and obstetrician, is planning to sail in the 2011 Sydney to Hobart yacht race, raising money and awareness for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation along the way.
By embarking on this incredible journey, Andrew Griffith’s Sydney to Hobart campaign not only continues to raise the profile of this insidious disease, but will significantly support our vital research endeavours for early detection and improved treatment methods.
The Sydney to Hobart yacht race is considered by many to be the world’s toughest blue water ocean race. Commencing on boxing day the OCRF Fully n Pushing yacht will take to the waters along with all of the other competitors, in front of an audience over half a million spectators.
Covering 628 nautical miles along the south-east coast of Australia, crossing eastern Bass Strait and down the east coast of Tasmania, the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race has become the event that crowns Boxing Day.
The journey to the start line is long, complex and a story in its own right, to follow Andrew on his journey please click here
