Now in its 18th year, the White Shirt Campaign has raised over $16.2 million for ovarian cancer research. I am raising funds for crucial ovarian cancer research. The current five year survival rate for ovarian cancer patients sits at just 49%. There is no early detection test and treatment options haven’t improved significantly in decades. Kel’s family, friends and extended network of supporters are again joining this important cause through the tradition of our White Shirt Lunches. Aside from raising awareness about Ovarian Cancer, funds raised support ongoing research into an early detection test and improved treatment options for ovarian cancer - to help women and girls survive this silent disease. Since her diagnosis in 2014, Kel worked tirelessly to raise awareness and funds to help achieve this goal. Sadly we lost Kel to this disease in November 2022. Living with this disease for over 8 years was difficult for Kel, her family and friends, but living without her is also really hard. Although she is no longer with us, Kel’s legacy as an amazing woman, wife, mother, friend, educator, mentor and determined advocate lives on. In the difficult time since her passing we are determined to keep fulfilling Kel’s wish to ensure other women, wives, mothers, sisters, and daughters do not have to face her same journey. We welcome you to join us on this important mission to raise funds and awareness. We want to help change the statistics and give those diagnosed with ovarian cancer a greater chance of survival. How amazing will it be when we are told women can finally access an early detection test. Any donation you can make is greatly appreciated and every conversation you have about this disease is a valuable one. With the greatest love and support for the Pittman family, thankyou for sharing your journey.
