My achievements

Why am I fundraising

I’m shaving my head for two important causes. To stand in solidarity. A dear friend has been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer and chose to shave her head before losing it through chemo and radiation. I’ve decided to join her, so she doesn’t have to face this part of her journey alone. At the same time, I’m using this moment to raise funds for ovarian cancer research. I’ve been by my mum’s side through every step since she was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer three years ago. After a heartbreaking prognosis and unbearable treatment side effects, she has now made the incredibly tough decision to enter palliative care. Ovarian cancer is one of the deadliest and least understood cancers affecting women and girls. Only 49% of those diagnosed survive five years, which is why research is desperately needed, for earlier detection and better treatments.
