Why are we fundraising

For the past 4 years, on May 8th staff at the Mount Gambier Hospital have worn white shirts to raise money in memory of dear friend and co-worker Ann. Ann worked for the Private Ward for many years dedicating her time and skills to the career. Ann was kind and patient, calm in her approach, and a quiet achiever. She was an excellent nurse who a lot of junior staff looked up to. We do this fundraiser each year in memory of Ann and also to those faced with the battle of Ovarian Cancer. Now in its 18th year, the White Shirt Campaign has raised over $16.2 million for ovarian cancer research. I am raising funds for crucial ovarian cancer research. The current five year survival rate for ovarian cancer patients sits at just 49%. There is no early detection test and treatment options haven’t improved significantly in decades. Investing in research is key to accelerating the breakthroughs ovarian cancer patients need. Any donation you can make is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for donating
