Thanks for visiting my Silver Lining Ride Fundraising Page. I’ve joined the 2019 Silver Lining Ride to raise funds and awareness for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation. Why? Because one Australian Woman loses her fight with Ovarian Cancer every eight hours. And, a further four women will be diagnosed with the disease each day. Tragically, the disease has already taken two great friends of the Silver Lining Ride - Mandy Herbert and Helen Hatzis. And another friend, Leane Flynn, continues her fight as we train and prepare for this year’s Ride. We know that early detection can significantly increase the survival rate, but unfortunately, there isn’t currently a means of early detection. So, all the funds we raise will help support research into finding an early detection test. We also know that loads of women don’t know anything much about the ovarian cancer and that the signs and symptoms can be vague, or can often be misdiagnosed as common female complaints - like bloating and abdominal cramps. So, we’ll be on media street throughout the Ride raising as much awareness as we can about the disease. Please support me in any way you can to help me to my personal fundraising target of $5,000.
