Helen Hatzis (1965-2016) passed away after an eight year battle with ovarian cancer. In that eight year period, Helen became an ambassador for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF). She hosted and spoke at functions raising awareness about this insidious disease and the need for an early detection test to change the statistics where, in Australia, a woman dies every 8 hours from Ovarian Cancer.

With Helen’s passing, a few of her closest friends and family formed the Helen’s Hope Committee to honour her legacy and raise funds for worthwhile causes. Helen was more than a cancer sufferer. She was a wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt and friend. Helen was also a dedicated speech pathologist, teacher, mentor and philanthropist.

Over the past three years, Helens Hope Foundation has organised Afternoon Tea, Trivia night and Movie night. Thank you to all of the Helen’s Hope Foundation supporters for their ongoing support.
