Two board appointments strengthen OCRF governance

July 07, 2026

The Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation has strengthened its leadership with two strategic board appointments that will help drive the organisation's impact.

Experienced finance and governance leaders Craig Zanker and Adejoke (Ade) Adeleke bring decades of expertise across the not-for-profit, government and health sectors, adding valuable financial oversight, governance capability and lived experience to the Board as it works to accelerate life-saving ovarian cancer research.

Craig joins the OCRF Board as a non-executive director, while Ade has been appointed Board Observer.

Craig takes the reins as Chair of the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee (FRAC), following the retirement of Philip Herbert after eight years of service on the OCRF Board.

Craig Zanker

A qualified chartered accountant, Craig is an experienced finance and governance professional with over 20 years of experience in the not-for-profit sector as an executive and director. This has included roles in health and aged care, the environment and Indigenous self-determination.

He has worked in the cancer sector for 14 years and currently leads corporate services, communications, engagement and governance for the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC) Alliance joint venture.

After losing his mother, Sandra, to ovarian cancer in 2018, Craig brings an informed perspective on the importance of supporting the voice of lived experience in healthcare to improve outcomes. He’s passionate about the need to support innovative, collaborative research and new models of care to solve some of the intractable issues around ovarian cancer, and to grow support for this underfunded and deadly cancer. A father of two young boys, he loves spending time with family and friends in nature.

Adejoke (Ade) Adeleke GAICD, CPA, MSc

Ade brings more than 20 years of experience spanning local and state government, financial services, energy, and not-for-profit sectors across Australia and internationally.

She is currently Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee and Board Treasurer for the Council of Single Mothers and Their Children, a leading not-for-profit organisation supporting single mother families and advocating for social change. Throughout her executive career in senior finance and government leadership roles, she has led large multidisciplinary teams and managed complex budgets exceeding $1 billion.

She is passionate about contributing to purpose-driven organisations and brings a strategic, analytical, and stakeholder-focused approach to board service.

Welcome to both Craig and Ade. We are delighted that you are joining the OCRF at a period of rapid growth, as we evolve into a mature organisation with increasingly ambitious goals and expanding influence.
