FUNDRAISE IN CELEBRATION

Have a special occasion coming up? Celebrate your special day and fundraise for ovarian cancer research.

HOW TO GET STARTED

1. Create your fundraising page

A donation in lieu of physical gifts is a special way to honour an occasion and leave a meaningful impact.

As you celebrate a wedding, birthday, bat mitzvah, baby shower, anniversary or any other occasion, why not ask your friends and family for a donation to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation. Your friend or loved ones’ donation will support the most innovative ovarian cancer research projects across Australia.

2. Set up your personal fundraising page

Create your page here, we recommend personalising your page, it’s quick, easy and tells people a little bit about why you’re asking for donations in lieu of physical gifts. Add your story, set your target goal and you’re ready to go! People will be more likely to support your celebration fundraiser if they understand more about the cause and why it’s important to you.

If you do not want to create an online fundraising page, please fill out this form and a member of our team will be in contact to discuss your fundraising event.

3. Spread the word

Share your fundraising page on social media, via email, or through word of mouth with your friends, family and colleagues and let them know what you’re doing.

Sharing your page ensures people can easily donate in lieu of a celebration gift, without handling any cash!

4. Create easy means for donations

You can email the OCRF to request donation envelopes to be mailed to you for cash donations.

Top tip - Generate a unique QR code to your fundraising page that you can print out for the event day – so guests can scan and donate on the go.

5. Celebrate!

No matter how much you raise, every extra dollar invested in ovarian cancer research makes a difference. The OCRF relies on the generosity of people like you to ensure we can continue funding important research to save and extend lives impacted by ovarian cancer.

Be sure to celebrate the contribution you’ve made and know you’re part of a community, creating long-lasting change for future generations.

Harry and Gillian celebrate 50 years of marriage

“When having celebrations, we prefer to ask guests to consider donations in lieu of gifts, that keeps the focus on our event, friends and family not the gift; we all receive satisfaction from the good it does. This year, Gillian and I are celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary and requested donations to the OCRF.   We believe that supporting world leading ovarian cancer research is a wonderful way to acknowledge this significant milestone.”
