WITCHERY WHITE SHIRT CAMPAIGN

The annual Witchery White Shirt Campaign in partnership with the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation plays a significant role in raising funds to support crucial ovarian cancer research.

Now in its 18th year, the funds raised through the Witchery White Shirt Campaign have been instrumental in enabling the OCRF to support promising research projects across Australia, raise awareness, and advocate to the government on behalf of future generations of women, girls and their families.

OCRF is the largest independent funder of ovarian cancer research in Australia and is currently supporting 18 projects across 10 institutions nationwide. The Witchery White Shirt Campaign has played a key role in the OCRF’s impact, including:

  • Distributing over $33 million to more than 60 research projects since 2000

  • Five OCRF-funded breakthroughs, to date, have progressed to clinical trials in Australia, and across the world.

  • Proceeds from Witchery White Shirts helping the OCRF support over 60 research projects, as we strive for early detection tests and better treatments.

Why a white shirt?

The Witchery OCRF White Shirt symbolises the lab coats worn by the scientists dedicating their lives to researching new and more effective solutions for ovarian cancer that will ultimately improve outcomes for patients today, and future generations.

Every year, Witchery releases a new OCRF White Shirt design in early-April and 100% of the gross proceeds from shirt sales are donated to the OCRF.

An award-winning partnership

In 2023, the OCRF was thrilled to receive a World Ovarian Cancer Coalition (WOCC) Impact Award in the Inspiring Collaborations category, for our longstanding partnership with Witchery.

The award recognised how instrumental the Witchery White Shirt Campaign has been in ovarian cancer research projects across Australia.

More than a fundraising endeavour, this collaboration is a manifestation of a shared belief between charitable organisations and corporate entities, emphasising the critical need for sustained, long-term funding in the realm of medical research. It's a testament to the power of collective efforts in driving tangible change and progress.

The OCRF is proudly a member of the World Ovarian Cancer Coalition. A not-for-profit organisation, formally established in 2016, working across the globe towards a world where every woman with ovarian cancer has the best chance of survival, and the best quality of life.

Host a White Shirt event for ovarian cancer research

Every year, sales of OCRF Witchery White Shirts are enhanced by the community embracing the campaign and using the theme to host events and fundraisers for ovarian cancer research.  These events are a fun and fashionable way to raise the profile of the cause, spread awareness and educate others about the disease.

Help us spread the word. Please join us and add your voice to this White Shirt Campaign – host your own White Shirt fundraising and awareness event within your community, social network, or workplace.

The Witchery White Shirt Campaign culminates on World Ovarian Cancer Day (White Shirt Day), which takes place on 8 May, every year.
